Gabe Zimmerman Davidson Canyon Trailhead at Cienega Creek Preserve, project started 2011; anticipated construction complete 2011.

Client Program / Project Description.  Project Goal: The project team, comprised of volunteers from public agencies, design firms, local artists and installers, is working on improvements to and dedication of the trailhead as the Gabe Zimmerman Davidson Canyon Trailhead in the Cienega Creek Preserve, east of Tucson, AZ.  Photo murals at the trail gateway will celebrate the life of Gabe Zimmerman, a community outreach director for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.  Gabe died in the shooting in Tucson on January 8, 2011.

In addition to the public art, the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead will include a picnic area, improved facilities for equestrian use, scenic overlooks and a section of accessible trail.
