A few Green Choices we make at Wheat Scharf Associates

Reduce.

We have a Composting bin in our office kitchen to reduce the amount of waste that goes to the landfill

Keep information filed on computers and print emails and reports only when necessary

Use the good side of used paper for notes, scratch paper, and internal reports

Print on both sides of paper when possible

Reuse.

Our front walk is paved with concrete pieces of old sidewalk

Use real dishes and silverware in our lunchroom

Recycle.

All the paper used in our office is 100% recycled.

We also recycle our paper, plastic, cans, glass and batteries

Water Harvesting.

We direct our roof down-spouts to our planting areas to reduce the amount of potable water used for irrigation

Save Energy.

Our office is powered down at the end of the night. Lights off, fans off, and  computers shut down

Use energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulbs throughout the office

Use energy-saving flat screen monitors

We work in natural light when possible – we have skylights in every room of the office

Use cost-effective, paper-saving networked printers/fax/scanners

Adjust facility heating and AC settings on evenings and weekends to conserve energy

Many of us ride our bikes to the office

We work on many LEED Certified Projects

Our office location allows us to walk to and support our downtown and 4th Ave. businesses for lunch and social activities
