			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Wheat Scharf Associates&#8217; staff is part of the LID Working Group managed under the Pima County Regional Flood Control District.  This working group is developing a manual of case studies showcasing low impact development projects within Pima County.  Tucson and Pima County are leading the nation in incorporating    stormwater-capturing green infrastructure into public, transportation,    park and commercial projects.</p>
<p>As part of the 2012 Arid LID conference, Caryl Clement, designer at Wheat Scharf Associates, will be presenting <strong><em> </em></strong><em>&#8220;Parks and Residence Halls: What Do They Have In Common?  Four Projects  in Tucson Demonstrating Innovative LID Solutions&#8221;</em>.<strong> </strong> Wheat Scharf Associates will also be hosting a field trip highlighting some of the firm&#8217;s projects: <em>&#8220;City and County Green Infrastructure Sites&#8221;.</em></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Gabe Zimmerman Davidson Canyon Trailhead at Cienega Creek Preserve</strong>, project started 2011; anticipated construction complete 2011.</p>
<p><strong>Client Program / Project Description.  Project Goal: </strong>The project team, comprised of volunteers from public agencies, design firms, local artists and installers, is working on improvements to and dedication of the trailhead as the Gabe Zimmerman Davidson Canyon Trailhead in the Cienega Creek Preserve, east of Tucson, AZ.  Photo murals at the trail gateway will celebrate the life of Gabe Zimmerman, a community outreach director for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.  Gabe died in the shooting in Tucson on January 8, 2011.</p>
<p>In addition to the public art, the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead will include a picnic area, improved facilities for equestrian use, scenic overlooks and a section of accessible trail.</p>
